Howard Dayton Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Tampa, FL -- Howard Dayton, cofounder of Crown Financial Ministries, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award given by Christian Stewardship Network (CSN), at its recent 2009 Forum in Tampa, Florida.

Speaking before a capacity crowd, CSN President Jerry Schriver recounted highlights in the development of stewardship ministry in local churches through Howard’s books, curricula, videos, and radio ministry. 

Howard was recognized as a man who has effectively and strategically advanced the message of biblical stewardship and generosity across the globe. He founded Crown Ministries, which merged with the ministry started by Larry Burkett in 2000. He served as CEO from 1985-2007 as a full-time unpaid volunteer. In that period, more than 58 million people worldwide were taught God’s way of handling money through Crown Financial Ministries. 

In his acceptance remarks, Dayton credited Jesus Christ for the development and growth of Crown. He also singled out his wife, Bev, for her love and support as a foundational part of his ministry efforts. Recently, Howard and Bev collaborated on a new book titled, Money and Marriage God’s Way, published by Moody Publishers. It will be released April 1, 2009.
