Mentally Prepare For Action

Are you prepared for action?

Stewards of the Lord must be mentally ready and prepared for action.

Dr. Frank Gonzalez, Crown’s director of Spanish Outreach recently taught our staff this important lesson. 2 Timothy chapter 2 says: “You then, my son, be strong in the grace that’s in Christ Jesus…Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.”

Strengthened by the grace that’s in Christ, we can adopt the mindset of soldiers, athletes, and farmers. A soldier’s mindset differs from civilians in that he expects to suffer to serve his commander. An athlete’s mindset differs from spectators because he must exercise self-control in all things to win the prize. A farmer’s mindset differs from consumers because he must work long hours, in all kinds of weather to reap a harvest. So, what’s your mindset? Learning and applying Biblical financial principles prepares us to act when called upon. The sacrifices we make enable us to run with perseverance towards the prize that awaits us all. So, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you can test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will – and then take action.
