Call Credit Card Customer Service
Ever had to call your credit card company?
One in 2 Americans say calling customer service is a pain and they’d rather call their in-laws. Yet, 3 in 4 consumers say it’s worth it.
Here’s what the survey revealed:
40% of people who asked for a late fee to be waived were successful.
A large majority of people who asked for better terms or risk losing them as a customer were granted their request.
And those who asked for a higher credit limit got it – although I don’t advise this except in an emergency.
Men are twice as likely as women to get a credit card annual fee waived. So, ladies, have your husband, boyfriend, dad or brother help you out on this one.
Remember, the Bible strongly discourages debt. The Apostle Paul told the Romans: Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another… (Romans 13:8)
Now, Paul took pride in being a slave – a slave of Christ and a voluntary slave of those to whom he ministered. But he urged followers of Christ to resist becoming slaves of men in any other context.
When we become slaves to more than one master it results in divided loyalties. Don’t allow yourself to be burdened by debt that restricts your service to God. He gave His only Son to redeem us so we could freely serve Him – not lenders.
So make that call to your credit card’s customer service department. And, as ambassadors of Christ, politely request better terms or waive those late fees. Then, pay off your cards so you’re free to serve your true Master!
