“The sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret.”
(2 Corinthians 7:10)

Reflection
by Larry Burkett

As I look back over the years, I have a few regrets; one, that I was not saved at an younger age so I would have had longer to serve the Lord. Also I regret that I didn’t know more while my children were at home so I could have spent more time teaching them God’s ways.

Obviously I can’t do anything about the past, so I’m trying to pass along what I know to my grandchildren.

Other than those, I have no conscious regrets. For the last 25 years, God has allowed me to do exactly what He called me to do; and, I’ve never done anything in my life that I have enjoyed more. Of course, there were some parts I didn’t enjoy, but that’s true with anything, isn’t it?

It is unfortunate that so few people can look back over their lives with few regrets.

It’s a good idea to examine this past year, to see if there’s anything you regret. You can correct it right now. It’s never too late. Make up your mind that next year will be different.

We will all face judgment one day and should be prepared. You can’t do anything about the past, but you don’t have to continually live in it either.

We shall all stand before the judgment seat of God” (Romans 14:10).
