Symptoms of Financial Bondage

Are you living in financial bondage?

It’s critical to keep an eternal perspective while living here on Earth, but when your focus shifts to the things of this world, you run the risk of financial bondage. When you seek to accumulate more and more things to make you comfortable, you may find yourself trapped. Here are some common symptoms associated with financial bondage.

– You think so much about money and the future that you have no peace with God and you can’t focus on things outside of your day-to-day existence.

– You’re not at peace living on what God has provided and often yearn for things you don’t have.

– You’re not working as if the Lord was your employer. You may be underperforming, or a workaholic.

– You’re unable to give as generously as you would like to give.

– You constantly argue with family members over money.

– You can’t pay off consumer debt in full each month.

– You receive notices of past due bills because you can’t keep up.

– You’re considering a consolidation loan.

– You spend money as a form of emotional therapy.

If some or all of these symptoms describe you, it’s time to bring your finances under the umbrella of God’s financial principles. The path to freedom may not be easy, but the result is worth the effort as you become better able to make an eternal impact in this temporary world. Follow the Apostle Paul by forgetting what’s behind you and straining toward what’s ahead. Press on toward the goal to win the prize for which Christ Jesus calls us.
