Resolve To Stop Borrowing
Do you have debt and are you living paycheck-to-paycheck?
Many people are experiencing economic turmoil. Let me encourage you. There’s a way out of the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle. It boils down to 4 words: resolve to stop borrowing. Scripture clearly indicates that borrowing is not God’s plan for His people. It was never intended to be a routine part of life. Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.” Borrowing prevents the opportunity to experience His provision. It keeps you from exercising self-control and adds unnecessary stress. It postpones payment for purchases because high-interest rates add to the balance. This can add months and years to credit card debt.
If your fixed expenses consume a larger portion of the budget than your income can handle, then please hear me. Borrowing only postpones the pain and prevents you from living in true prosperity. David tells us in Psalm 37:21, “The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives.” When you’re borrowing to pay your overhead, you can’t live generously, and as a result, you miss out on the blessing of giving. To enjoy the life God intended for you, humble yourself under His mighty hand and seek solutions to your financial challenges. Stop borrowing. Either decrease your overhead or increase your income, and if possible, do both, and remember Biblical financial principles were given for your good.
