Stewards Are Well-Organized Managers

Stewards are managers!

One of the most frequently mentioned habits of high achievers is organization. Whether one keeps a “To-Do List” or devotes certain hours to weekly planning, developing habits of organization is crucial to stewardship. Unorganized people lose hundreds and thousands of dollars in fees, interest, and unopened checks. Important dates are missed, subscriptions are forgotten, gift cards are lost, and credit scores are damaged. Deductions are missed in hurried tax preparation, and often productivity is diminished and jobs are threatened. Unfortunately, the unorganized suffer the emotional toll of stress, guilt, depression, anxiety, frustration, and embarrassment. These eventually lead to relational issues.

Faithfulness as God’s steward requires financial organization. When systems are in place, deadlines are met consistently. Productivity and efficiency are improved, and this positively impacts confidence and morale while minimizing frustration. Margin expands and financial freedom can be achieved!

Start by prioritizing tasks. Take small steps, set a timer, and remove distractions. Work when you’re most productive, then reward yourself after a set time. Develop daily, weekly, monthly, and annual routines. You’ll develop good habits and wonder why you didn’t start sooner! Proverbs 10:4 says, “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Those committed to completing their responsibilities are rewarded, and those who avoid them will suffer.
