Read The Word
Do you read your Bible?
Every year, my wife, Ann, and I go through the entire Scripture. She likes to read it. I like to listen to it. The Bible is full of financial principles that will strengthen your resolve to be a good steward. Can I encourage you to go through the Bible with us? There are many reading plans available online. Or, simply start at the beginning and go for it! I was not a Bible reader for many years, now I don’t know how I ever did without it! The more you read, the more you’ll see His majesty, power, and love. Believing that God truly loves you and cares about your needs will help you trust Him to provide! In Psalm 19, David praises God’s Word by saying:
“The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.”
So how can you claim God’s promises if you don’t know what He says? Spend time with God this year and meditate on His Word. It will teach you how to become a faithful steward.
