Are You Planning a Getaway?
Are you planning a getaway in the future?
If your family wants to get away this fall, begin saving right now. Consider your options carefully because it’s easy to overspend! A recent survey found that 1/4 of the responding Disney-goers accrued nearly $2,000 of debt during their trip. 75% said it may take them 6 months to pay off the trip. Disney World’s resort hotel can cost a thousand dollars a night for 2 adults and 2 children plus food, beverages, and transportation!
Now there are many great budget-saving options. If you’re planning a fall getaway or making plans for spring break or next summer, now’s the time to do your research. A debt-free vacation is possible if you work within a realistic budget. Traveling requires cooperation, planning, perseverance, and, maybe some painful sacrifices, but the reward for building memories is worth it.
Study the overall cost. Then begin working towards a financial goal. Including the children is a great way to build their excitement and teamwork. Our state and national park system is a treasure. Your family can celebrate time together while being educated and entertained. The National Park Service website is NPS.gov. There you’ll find prices for annual passes, lifetime senior, and military passes. Invite friends or family to join you. Plan your meals, bring a cooler, and you’ll save hundreds of dollars on food. A well-planned staycation can also be a blast.
