“The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.”

Material success does not necessarily constitute God’s endorsement of our actions. This applies to businesses and ministries alike. Every action must meet two criteria for a Christian.
First, it must be in accordance with God’s written Word. Some decisions are objective enough to be eliminated on the basis of direct contradiction to the Bible.
The second criterion that must be met is personal conviction. The Christian life is not just a set of rules that can be obeyed to the letter and thus satisfy our commitment. We are held to an even higher standard that requires constant input from the Holy Spirit to keep us going in the right direction.
It means we are accountable if we defile our consciences by doing something we feel is wrong. This feeling must be based on a firm conviction from God.
How do you know? You will lack the feeling of inner peace that comes from being in God’s will.
“From Thy precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way” (Psalm 119:104).
