GIF Christ’s Required Commitment
“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to one, and despise the other.”

Christ’s Required Commitment
by Larry Burkett
A review of Christ’s commitment on earth demonstrates pretty clearly that He was seeking those who would commit everything to the service of God’s kingdom.
Even as he walked and taught, because of the miracles He was performing, many people were attracted to Him. When others asked Him if they could join His disciples, He directed them to lay aside their own desires and follow Him unreservedly.
With few exceptions, they turned back to whatever they had been doing before; the price was simply too high for them.
The lesson for Christians today should be overwhelmingly clear: All of those who were too busy for Christ will spend an eternity regretting it. So, all that truly matters is what we can do for the kingdom of God.
The things we accumulate are not important. They are tools for us to use in accomplishing God’s work. Some will need great resources and some only a little. God owns it all anyway.
Christ said we must make a choice about our commitment, and there are only two choices. These are given in today’s Scripture verse.
Whom do you choose?
