Excuse Me Please

Without exception, God has a unique and meaningful plan for every believer, and it does not depend on age, income, or ability.

It is also clear that God calls each of us to fill in our gap. The story of Esther, in the Old Testament, shows us that every believer must decide either to be used by God or to be bypassed and another chosen instead.

Most Christians would never refuse to do God’s will; it’s just that the timing might not be right. When God calls us, He wants obedience first and worldly wisdom last.

We have allowed the “urgent” things of society to overshadow the “important” things.

This fact is neither new nor unique to our generation.

In fact, Christ experienced it during His life and predicted it for us. He told a parable in Luke 14:16-24 of God calling men to follow Him. They were invited to a dinner, but most were far too busy to attend right then. They wanted to be part of what was happening but had to spend their time fulfilling a great many responsibilities.

If we are wise, we will realize that it is God’s timetable we want to live by—not our own. This is the only way we will receive the best He has for us.

“My prayer is to Thee, O Lord, at an acceptable time; O God, in the greatness of Thy lovingkindness, answer me with Thy saving truth” (Psalm 69:13).
