Abundant Life

What does “abundance” mean to you? To most people, it probably means a large amount of money and possessions. God’s perspective is different. He teaches that abundance is found in four key relationships.

The first of these relationships is with God Himself, because true wealth comes from knowing Him. Following are suggestions for developing a vibrant relationship with God.

1. Read His Word and memorize the Scripture with the mindset to know the Author.
2. Pray—Humble yourself before the Lord, confess you don’t have the kind of relationship with Him that you need, and ask Him to draw closer to you, to free you from fear, and allow you to experience His abundance.
3. Fast—If you trust God and follow through with fasting, you’ll discover God is ever-present, the true Master of your life.
4. Learn to be generous—Generosity shows you believe God and trust He will take care of you.

The second relationship you need for abundant life is a relationship with a community of believers. You can’t experience the riches of relationships with others if you don’t join a church, participate, and serve.

The third relationship necessary for abundant life is a relationship with family and friends, which you can improve through an investment of time. Offer them hospitality, kindness, grace, forgiveness, and mercy.

The fourth and final relationship necessary for abundant life is a right relationship with money. Money has a grip on the lives of many people, but only God should be your Master. He wants you to be free to serve and give, but you won’t be able to do that if you’re a slave to money.
