National Morality
by Larry Burkett
The only way we, as God’s people, are ever going to restore morality to government is by demanding morality of our elected leaders.
That means we have to promote people to office who have good moral values and who have Christian ethics in their lives.
I’ve heard the definition of character is what somebody does when nobody else is watching. And that’s precisely who we need to elect to public office: people who will do the right things when we aren’t watching them.
We can reestablish morality in government by requiring certain values of our politicians and then holding them to those standards.
Until we are willing to stand up and vote against immorality and support those who share God’s value systems, we are never going to change the direction of our country.
Morality is in the hands of the people, and we are the people!
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His owninheritance” (Psalm 33:12 NASB).
