30 Day Money Reset
Your one month challenge to develop healthy, biblical financial habits.
DAY 19
DEEP BREATH
How are you doing in the reset? You are almost two-thirds of the way done! You’re making great progress and should be so encouraged at all that you have accomplished!
Even in the middle of intense challenges, we sometimes need to pause and take a deep breath. The last week of tasks have been difficult – you’ve had to evaluate a lot about your financial and spiritual life. We’ve challenged you to make drastic changes as you continue to develop healthy habits that you can sustain long-term.
So today, pause and take a deep breath. Remember that you’re a steward, first and foremost. If you’ve missed a day, or messed up on a task, or are just feeling discouraged, take today to hit reset.
Hopefully, you’ve realized that your finances are about more than money. You are a manager of the resources the Creator of the Universe has entrusted to you. Whether that’s a lot or a little, it’s a big responsibility. And you have the opportunity to use those resources to further the Kingdom of God.
Stewardship requires Christians to live differently than the rest of the world. But stewardship is not about judging or criticizing the way others chose to live. It’s about prioritizing and managing our lives in such a way that God can use us according to His will.
It’s saying “no” to the things of this world so we can say “yes” to the things of God. When we see ourselves in light of God’s purpose, we understand that money is a powerful tool for present and eternal impact.
Today's action item:
Memorize these 5 principles of stewardship. These are what make your finances about more than money and can have an eternal impact on your life, and the lives of those around you.
>> God owns everything and we are simply His managers or stewards.
>> Faithful stewardship honors God and leads to a lifestyle of Godly obedience.
>> Humility is a great strength when making financial decisions.
>> God's presence brings hope, even in extreme situations.
>> Contentment comes from understanding and accepting God's sovereign plan for our lives.
