(Ephesians 3:13)
Brokenness
by Larry Burkett
Brokenness, whether it is financial, physical, or emotional, has at its center the purpose of teaching us to trust in God. Paul knew that his tribulations were the result of his persistent battle against Satan. They were neither pleasant nor enjoyable to Paul, but he knew they were necessary in order to build his character.
Remember, our loving Father’s goal throughout our lives is to conform us to the image of His Son. But to that end, our ego and pride, which naturally oppose God and His purposes, must be broken.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
Is there anything in your life that might result in brokenness? Pray about it today. Do you see brokenness in someone else’s life? Pray for that person now.
