GIF Carnal Minds
“The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God.”

Carnal Minds
by Larry Burkett
We’ve all heard the expression, “people with carnal minds.” In Romans I believe the apostle Paul was talking about people who live only to please themselves.
He went on to say that following after the “old nature leads to death, because the old sinful nature within us is against God” (Romans 8:7 TLB).
Christians who continue to live in their old sinful ways cannot please God.
If we’re following the Spirit of God and living by the principles of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will convict us when we are out of the will of God.
Those who set their minds on worldly things and are motivated by them, have carnal minds, and need to repent. “Repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you” (Acts 8:22).
If you have a particular weakness, the smart thing to do is to avoid any contact with it.
A man who travels in business and finds a pornographic channel on the television in his hotel room must make a decision. Will he allow the Holy Spirit to take control of his life or give in to his carnal nature?
Airline pilots spend many hours training in a simulator for every potential problem they might face when flying an airplane. They train themselves for every contingency so they cannot be caught unaware.
We must do the same in our spiritual lives.
