“Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Hope for the Future
by Larry Burkett
As we read our daily newspapers and watch the local and national news on television, we are disturbed by the violence, bloodshed, chaos, strife, and international unrest.
For unbelievers the future must look pretty dark. However, Christians know what is ahead and can have hope. In the Bible we read about the evidences of the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
John Baillie wrote that “the future is in the hands of One who is preparing something better than eye hath seen, or ear heard, or has entered into the heart of man to conceive.”
The psalmist says that the Lord is our light and salvation and that we should have no fear (see Psalm 27:1).
And, as Christians, we know that we are promised life in a happy place where we won’t have hardships and casualties. We have an assurance that life there will be happiness, joy, and peace. This blessed hope allows us to look forward to that day.
“You have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised” (Hebrews 10:36).
