Quiet Times

Sometimes my life is so hectic that it is difficult for me to schedule quiet times, but I believe it is absolutely imperative for a continued spiritual walk with the Lord that we have these quiet times.

It was necessary for Jesus to withdraw from the crowds and go out alone to pray. So, how much more important must it be for us, Jesus’ followers, to do the same?

If you are reading this devotion series regularly, you probably already have a quiet time, and that’s great.

Generally, my quiet time is when I first awake in the morning. I try to wake up at least an hour before I have to start getting ready to go to the office.

It’s during that time that I go through my prayer list and ask God to bless the people who are doing His work and heal those who are sick. On behalf of my family and friends who are unsaved, I ask Him to intercede supernaturally.

It’s during those quiet times that I get my inspiration from God and certainly it is when I get the majority of my answers.

As many people do, I also pray as I drive my car. Sometimes I pray as I am walking (for exercise).

Without those quiet times, I believe that my relationship with God would deteriorate, so I make time for the quiet communion with God.

“The Lord your God is in your midst. . . . He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over youwith shouts of joy” (Zephaniah 3:17).
