GIF What Has God Prepared?
“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”
(1 Corinthians 2:9)
What Has God Prepared?
by Larry Burkett
It was 9:00 A.M. and the doctors had just finished working frantically to save the life of an elderly woman. Several times during the operation the doctors thought they had lost her. The last time there was no breathing, her pulse had stopped, and there were no vital signs whatsoever. But death had lost and the doctors’ efforts had prevailed.
The operating room was silent for a few moments; then everyone began to smile as life began to flow back into the body of the patient. In a few moments she regained a brief state of consciousness, looked at the doctor with tears in her eyes, and asked, “Why did you bring me back? I wanted to stay with Jesus!”
Too often we look at death as an end when it is only a beginning. It is not a time of sadness; it is one of gladness. We set our eyes on the things of this world—money, possessions, and good times—and the world blinds us to the things He has for us. If we walk in the Spirit, the things of this world will not have a hold on us.
And, as we walk in the Spirit, the apostle Paul’s testimony—“for me to die is gain”—will become our testimony.
You will know you are walking in the Spirit when the things of this world are overshadowed by the eternal things of heaven.
