Why the Dishonest Prosper
by Larry Burkett
“My people did not listen to My voice. . . . So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, to walk in their own devices” (Psalm 81:11-12).
There is no doubt that many dishonest people prosper and gain material things. Why? Because Satan, in his limited authority over us, can provide riches.
However, the problem with Satan’s supply is that it’s accompanied by fear, anxiety, anger, greed, resentment, and one day judgment.
Christians, on the other hand, must accept God’s Word as the only standard for honesty and integrity. Only the Lord’s provision is accompanied by peace and contentment.
Many Christians conform to this world and, as a result, they fail to experience God’s blessings.
God has the power and the desire to grant material blessings to those who faithfully follow His directions.
“I would feed you with the finest of the wheat; and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you” (Psalm 81:16).
