Break the Paycheck to Paycheck Cycle- Part 1
Are you living paycheck to paycheck?
The expression “paycheck to paycheck” describes the situation in which a salary is devoted to cover expenses, with no margin for error. If income is lost, bills can’t be paid. For more than 48 years, Crown has helped families break out of this cycle. Far too many people live like this and experience continual, deep financial pain. A Bankrate Economic Analyst put it like this: “For Americans, it likely feels akin to walking a tightrope with no safety net, where the balance between expenses and earnings becomes a delicate dance.”
This kind of financial strain is not how God created us to live. Counting days until your next payday to buy groceries or pay the bills creates anxiety. Money controls you. Imagine hiring someone to manage your finances. Would you want that person to handle money the way that you do? I’d be upset if he or she couldn’t make my paycheck last through the end of the month. If my credit card was needed for daily expenses, I think I’d find a new manager! Well, we are God’s managers. We’re responsible for the time, talents, and treasures that He provides. They’re not for squandering away or to be used just for our own benefit. We’re to take care of our needs and lovingly support our families, but we can’t take a house, or clothes, or cars to Heaven. Work provides money that is a resource for building His Kingdom. Use it for things of eternal value, not just for personal gain.
Now if living paycheck to paycheck has created credit card debt for you, Christian Credit Counselors will help. They can create a debt management plan specifically for your needs. For more information visit online at crown.org/ccc.
