Crazy Money! Largest Pro Sports Contract in History
It’s Crazy Money Day!
The average Major League Baseball team is now worth $2.4 billion and the players are earning big money! The largest contract in the history of pro sports was awarded to a 26-year-old baseball player named Juan Soto. It’s big. I mean really big! The $765 million contract, over 15-years, averages $51 million a year. He has access to a luxury suite, 4 premium seats at Mets home games, and he keeps the Number 22. Now that’s crazy! No, it’s really crazy! Needless to say, security will be provided for him and his family at home and on the road.
Juan Soto is one of the game’s premier hitters and perhaps one of the most entertaining. The Dominican outfielder played for the Yankees in the 2024 season, scoring the 2nd highest number of home runs with a batting average of 0.288. During the World Series, he had the 2nd highest batting average of 0.313. He’s won 5 consecutive Silver Slugger Awards. Soto’s faith is an important part of his life. He prays before games and often attributes his success to God. May he remain grateful and humble as he enters this chapter of life – a shining example to his teammates and the world. Proverbs 11:28 says, “Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.” May righteous living be our goal as we steward the resources that God provides to us.
