How To Keep Calm When the Market’s Not

Are you concerned about market turbulence?

Experts have been predicting an economic correction for some time. We’ve seen volatility in the markets in the past, and we’ll see more in the future. Thankfully, we can trust in the One who is in control of all things.

Centuries ago, the Apostle Paul instructed Timothy with great wisdom. He said, As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.” (1 Timothy 6:17-21)

Set your hope on God and prepare for uncertainty. Be conservative, be diversified, and be at peace. The safest place on Earth is in the center of God’s will. The market goes up and down and will continue to do so. Our peace, provision, and protection all come from the Lord, so we have nothing to fear. Do we need to be wise and diversified for turbulence? Of course. Do we need to be panicked? Never. God wants His people to be prepared, not paranoid.

So here’s a quick check list. Are your investments diversified? Are you living beneath your means with enough financial margin to weather a storm? Are you serving God’s purpose for your life? If so, keep calm and carry on.

And if credit card debt has limited your financial margin, Christian Credit Counselors will help. They’ll create a debt management plan specifically for you. For more information visit online at crown.org/ccc.
