Is Life Insurance Biblical?

Does God want you to have life insurance?

I know several people who would say that life insurance is wrong because they see it as a lack of trust in God’s provision.

But the Bible gives us clear instruction that we’re supposed to make a financial plan to take care of our own.

First Timothy 5:8 notes, “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” God’s plan is that each person take responsibility for themselves and their family.

So I think it’s wise planning to use life insurance as a tool to prepare for your family’s needs. Pray about the insurance decision and educate yourself on all the options available!
