Replace Fear with Power, Love, and Self-Control
Are you struggling with financial fear?
We all fear something. Maybe it’s losing your job or becoming disabled. Maybe it’s bankruptcy or being late with the mortgage payment. Perhaps you’re living in a financial nightmare right now. Are you ready to face the fear and get rid of it once and for all? Listen to Paul’s advice to Timothy: “God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
Now there are 3 clear lessons in this verse:
1. Financial fear does not come from God.
2. That fear is a Spirit…a demonic force that will keep you stuck in worry, doubt, and anxiety.
3. God has given us power, love, and self-control.
His power enables us to endure financial pain. His love can cast out all fear, and self-discipline from Him is what you need to put plans in place to overcome financial challenges. Power, Love, Self-control. Repeat after me: Power: God’s power… Love: God’s unconditional love… Self-control: not my own, but that which comes from His Spirit!
Take your fear or financial challenge and put Paul’s advice into action. Ask God to give you His power to fight the battle. Ask without doubt and trust Him to get you through this. Then, rest in the love of God to escape the fear that’s troubling you, and then make a plan. Create a process, to manage your finances well.
