Savings Tip – Wait 24 Hours
I have a great savings tip for you today. It’s one my wife actually holds me to!
The tip is to wait 24 hours before making a purchase. If we find something that isn’t an essential – and it isn’t on our original list – we have to wait 24 hours to buy it. So we patiently put off the desire to grab what we want and pray. If, after a whole day, we still want the item, it’s in our budget, and it’s still in stock, we can purchase it.
The point is to avoid making an impulse buy – or having buyer’s remorse.
Proverbs 21:5 says, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”
Be diligent, not hasty, in your purchasing decisions – you’ll save money and honor God with your finances.
Another crucial savings tip is to have a budget. If you don’t have one you love, use Crown’s easy guide at crown.org/money
