Set Goals – Make Plans
Are you reaching your financial goals?
Making plans and setting goals are vital for financial achievement. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there’s no vision, the people perish.” In this case, a vision is an expression of a better future. Here’s what I suggest:
Create a definable goal and record practical steps toward achieving it. Figure out the cost to get there. Most financial goals require some kind of sacrifice. Check in to Crown’s free resources on establishing financial goals and tools to help you stick with a plan. Next, remove the obstacles that distract you and focus on one goal at a time. Don’t allow unhealthy patterns to prevent you from succeeding. Finally, celebrate achievements along the way. This is especially important when goals lie in the distant future. Don’t wait for the end result before you allow yourself some satisfaction. Recognize milestones! David was a warrior king who fought many battles during his lifetime. He didn’t wait for the war to be over to appreciate his victories. In Psalm 68 he says, “…may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful…Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens…”
As Christians, we press on in hope knowing we’re more than conquerors through Him who loves us. Don’t allow past failures to alter your certainty that with God all things are possible. Focus on your plan, take small steps every day, and persevere to victory! With Him, you can reach your financial goals!
