Steward Everything
Are you stewarding everything?
Historian Dr. Rodney Stark did extensive work to support the claim that Christians and Jews have been the agents most responsible for significant advances in human flourishing. Take Michael Faraday. His work in chemistry and electromagnetism lead to modern day air conditioning. Think of the economic ramifications of that! Faraday frequently thanked God for his discoveries, declaring Jesus to be Lord of all.
Mathew Maurey, the father of oceanography, was inspired by Psalm 8:6-8. It says: “You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.” His discovery and mapping of the Gulf Stream is thought to have reduced circumnavigation of the world by one-half the time. Think of the economic ramifications of that! He believed God’s Word is a reliable source for scientific discovery.
Then there’s Nicola Tesla. He ushered in the modern era of electricity. He proclaimed that: “The gift of mental power comes from God, the Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with the great power. My Mother has taught me to seek that truth in the Bible.”
Have you ever dreamed of how God might use you? He’s given you time, talents, gifts and influence, and wealth. How might you change the world? How might your children? Seek Him, then steward wisely all that he has given you!
