Stewardship and a Good Reputation
A number of years ago I was preparing for a really important TV interview and I really wanted to buy a new suit. The only one I had was given to me as a gift when a family friend had passed away!
Well, my wife “strongly advised” me to swallow my pride and wear the suit – and I reluctantly complied.
In the interview, I started talking about stewardship – and the man stopped me. Since I was wearing that expensive suit, he questioned whether I practiced what I preached. Good thing I listened to my wife and was able to tell the man that the suit had been a gift.
She saved my reputation! It was a great reminder to listen to advice.
